The Council is a key solution provider in ensuring Canada's petroleum industry meets its short and long-term human resource goals through strategic collaborations designed to help the oil and gas industry attract, develop and retain skilled talent.

The Council tracks and projects labour market trends, provides strategic HR intelligence and solutions to industry and educators. By working with dedicated people from all sectors of the industry, the Council has become a catalyst for the advancement of the industry and its people.

The Council is supported by 11 oil and gas national and regional industry organizations, including one union, and represents the key sectors of the petroleum industry in Canada: exploration, development, production, oil and gas services, pipeline transmission, gas processing and mining, extracting and upgrading heavy oil and bitumen.
